Jeff VanderMeer’s SOUTHERN REACH TRILOGY Gets Stunning New Covers. Again.

If there is any book series that (1) has had multiple reprintings, *and* (2) had outstanding cover art for every single one of those reprints…it’s Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach Trilogy, the story of the goings-on at the mysterious place known as Area X. Heck, even the omnibus edition got excellent artwork.

Here’s the latest set of covers coming from Fourth Estate in July, with fantasic illustration work by Rodrigo Corral.

  1. I have an odd reason for loving the omnibus edition, besides the gorgeous cover. After devouring ANNIHILATION (seriously awesome scifi!), I wanted to read AUTHORITY, but there were a zillion holds on it at the library and I’ve already blown my book budget.
There were, however, no holds on AREA X. I felt smug for about a week.

I like these new covers better than the old ones… I may have to pick up this collection for my personal library!
