Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (The Comic-Con Trailer)

I was all set to not want to go see this film. Don’t get me wrong. I grew up on DC heroes. I’m a latecomer to the Marvel universe. The recent series of films are what made me like them. But I just couldn’t see how they were going to do something similar with the DC universe. From the looks of this trailer, there’s a heavy focus on Absolute Power, which ultimately pits Batman against Superman. Superman would still win, I mean come one…but by the looks of this trailer, it may be a little deeper than just special effects spectacle. Good move, Zack Snyder…

I think it’s serious in a way that Marvel films are not. Marvel films are always tinged with humor. I find this utterly humorless — and that’s not a bad thing. Sometimes I want to be caught up in an epic. I want to be caught up in deadly serious. I want to hold my breath rather than have a chuckle every few scenes. I’m sure there will be funny moments that are not featured in the trailer, but this gives me the kind of film that I want out of these two characters PLUS Wonder Woman (who there was too little of in the trailer). Question: Who is the young villain featured?

  2. That’s Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

  3. I’m more interested to see how Wonder Woman is portrayed than anything else. She’s the only one who hasn’t been featured on the big screen yet. The few seconds of footage with her looks great.
