Alejandro Jodorowsky’s films (Tusk, Santa Sangre) are many things: surreal, trippy, avant garde, mystical. Let’s not forget his crazy, seemingly LSD-induced fever dream he wanted to film as Dune. He’s even created several comic book series which share similar traits in Incal, The Technopriests and Metabarons. Mr. Jodorwoski, in conjunction with Titan Comics, is creating a new comic due to be released in November, called Showman Killer: Heartless Hero. What’s it about? Glad you asked!
Space is a dangerous place, made more so by the existence of the Showman Killer, a heartless assassin, genetically engineered by an insane scientist to be devoid of any emotion, and trained to kill!
The only things that give him anything approaching pleasure are destruction or money. That is, until a fateful mission throws him into the path of the mysterious and fascinating Ibis.
There’s a lot to pique the interest there, but how about something more visual. Say, a trailer?
Over the top? Possibly, but would you expect any less from Jodorowsky? If you’re interested, the comic drops November 16th.
