These Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Movies and TV Shows Make Adorable Children’s Book Covers

As I was browsing around Amazon, I stumbled across the adorable-looking book Alien Next Door coming in November from Titan Books. The art was eye-catching – not quite minimalist, but cartoonish and fun. It helped that everyone’s favorite movie alien was on the cover, too. The book description promises to show us the “caring side to the legendary science fiction monster as he tends to Jonesy the cat, endeavours to keep his house cleaner than the Nostromo, and searches for his place on a cold, new, alien world: Earth.” Sign me up, right?

The book is by artist Joey Spiotto, an illustrator from Southern California, and I just had to see more. I could tell from his blog that this was indeed just the beginning. He’s got dozens of awesome illustrations on display there and at Gallery 1988. He’s taken two of his passions — art and pop culture — and combined them into a terrific set of tribute children’s book covers, for example. He’s got cute and eye-catching versions of Firefly, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, The Fifth Element, and so much more. (I love the Weird Al one, too!)

Below you can find the ones of interest to science fiction, fantasy & horror fans, but be sure to follow Joey for maore at his website, his blog, on Twitter as @JoeySpiotto, and on Facebook. ALso check out his Etsy shop and T-Shirt store.
