We have four new(ish) trailers to help you start the week off right, so let’s get right to it! First up:
It seems the zombie invasion shows no sign of slowing down, this time infecting the latest film version of Jane Austen’s classic novel. I’m pretty much suffering from “too many zombies” syndrome, and not being a fan of this particular book, I’m not going to see this one. But don’t let that stop you if you’re interested!
After releasing the pilot for a potential series earlier this year, Amazon picked up the series for a full season. All episodes will be available to stream starting on 11/20/15. Even though this isn’t a strict representation of the book, the themes and ideas from it are present and I was impressed with the pilot. This is one I will definitely be watching. Here’s a trailer from earlier this month which hints at other plot threads:
I was pleasantly surprised by Netflix’s take on Daredevil and Jessica Jones continues their dark and realistic look at Marvel’s non-top tier heroes. But I have to wonder how much darkness will audiences accept? After reading up on Jessica Jones and David Tenant’s villain, Jessica Jones could become pretty grim. I’ll still watch though, and I applaud Netflix (and Amazon) from bringing us more genre fare to watch.
Synchronicity is a new film by Jacob Gentry, the director of The Signal. Here’s a quick synopsis:
A mind-bending ‘Sci-fi Noir’ in the tradition of Dark City, Blade Runner where physicist Jim Beale invents a machine that can fold space-time and a rare Dahlia appears from the future
Well all right then, sounds very interesting to me! And it certainly looks, and sounds, very much like Blade Runner (sorry John!). Their trailer does just enough to intrigue me so I’ll be on the look out for this one when it stops making the rounds at various film festivals.
