SFFWorld is one of the genre’s longest-running websites; multiple reviews are posted weekly, with additional content such as author interviews, author guest posts, giveaways, and other similar posts going live daily. SFFWorld also has a very active discussion forum, particularly the writing forum. Efforts from the community have resulted in three short story anthologies, here Andrew Leon Hudson, editor of the fourth and forthcoming anthology introduces Ecotones…
Linger at the borders of reality? Dance in the spaces between one moment and the next?
If so, then check out this year’s collection of short stories from SFFWorld.com: an ebook anthology with a timely environmental theme, featuring sci-fi and fantasy stories by Ken Liu, Lauren Beukes, Tobias S. Buckell, Stephen Palmer, Matthew Hughes, as well as names you may not yet know.
Ecotones features fourteen tales from best-sellers, award-winners and -nominees, established and up-coming authors. We have stories about transformative aliens, battles against the rising tide, a game of cat and mouse in the Costa Rican cloud forests, environmentalism’s answer to Romeo and Juliet, the technology we love to hate, the technology that may kill us… and more.
Curated by first-time anthology editor Andrew Leon Hudson, this collection follows the efforts of N. E. White, long-time SFFWorld.com member and aspiring writer. Under her guidance, the forum’s writing community has produced three unique anthologies that Ecotones will soon proudly join:
This year we have turned to Kickstarter to try and get our project out to as many readers as we can. We’re offering Ecotones and our previous collections at much reduced prices, as well as development and promotional opportunities for other spec-fic authors, and more cool rewards. As well as recouping our costs, we hope to increase the amount we pay our fledgling authors to semi- or even pro-level, and we’ll give away additional titles free if we reach those targets.
The Kickstarter campaign is now live, so please join us in supporting the work of nine aspiring new talents, and enjoying the rich variety on offer in these fourteen great stories!
Ecotones – Ecological Stories from the Border Between Fantasy and Science Fiction will be available as a DRM-free ebook and will be published on December 15th, 2015.
