SUNDAY CINEMA: Enjoy the SciFi Comedy “Jules Verne’s Rocket to the Moon” (1967)


More comedy than SciFi, 1967’s Jules Verne’s Rocket to the Moon is only very loosely based on Verne’s From the Earth to the Moon. The Bristish film — which was directed by Don Sharp and stars Burl Ives, Troy Donahue, Gert Fröbe and Terry-Thomas — was rleased as s Those Fantastic Flying Fools in the US.

The comedy of errors plot concerns Phineas T. Barnum’s attempts to send a projectile to the moon in Victorian England.
