SF Signal Welcomes Nicole Kastronis!
Hey everbody, we’re thrilled to welcome Nicole Kastronis to the SF Signal team!
As we like to do with our new contributors, we asked Nicole to talk about herself in the third person. Here’s what she said:
Nicole Kastronis is a science fiction researcher and Philip K. Dick scholar. After moving stateside from the valleys of North Wales UK in late 2015, she spends most of her days PhD-hunting, working on essays, and reading as much science fiction as humanly possible. She is also an avid player of Magic: The Gathering (hey, green players!) and loves a good tournament or three to show the boys how it’s done. Nicole will be offering reviews of all kinds, and writing the occasional piece on the inner workings of science fiction in the academic world.
Welcome to the team, Nicole! This is the part where I try to finagle some bagels from the newcomers. I wish I could say I was a master bagel finagler, but alas, my bagel finaling skills have yeilded me zero bagels. Of course, that also means you have an excellent opportunity to butter up the head honcho, so if you did wanna get me a bagel, an “everything” bagel would work wonders! 😉
Nicole’s avid reading led her towards a short fiction collection. Check out her review of Timothy Zahn’s PAWN’S GAMBIT AND OTHER STRATAGEMS.
But first, please join me in welcoming Nicole to the SF Signal team!
As a PKD fan I look forward to your posts Nicole.
Welcome!!!
Good to see
Welcome Nicole!
Welcome aboard!
Hello! Gosh, I remember ordering a deck of MtG. It was black-bordered. I only bought one deck, which was useless as no one else I knew played (at that time) so I gave my first edition deck to a friend who collects everthing.
Heh. I have quite a few black-border Magic cards sitting around somewhere.
An alpha deck O.O wow. Every Magic player’s dream collectible. Also very valuable. You’re a good friend!
Thank you for the warm welcome everyone! I am thrilled to be on the team!
