The Novellas of Ursula K. Le Guin Finally Collected in THE FOUND AND THE LOST

For those who were waiting for a single-volume collection of Ursula K. Le Guin’s novellas, your wait is almost over. In October, Saga Press will be releasing the 800+ page collection The Found and the Lost: The Novellas of Ursula K. Le Guin. I’m gonna go out on a very short limb and say this is gonna be one of the must-have collections of the year.

Here’s how they describe it.

Every novella by Ursula K. Le Guin, an icon in American literature, collected for the first time—and introduced by the legendary author—in one breathtaking volume.

Ursula K. Le Guin has won multiple prizes and accolades from the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters to the Newbery Honor, the Nebula, Hugo, World Fantasy, and PEN/Malamud Awards. She has had her work collected over the years, but never as a complete retrospective of her longer works as represented in the wonderful The Found and the Lost.

This collection is a literary treasure chest that belongs in every home library.

  1. Very cool. Any idea of the contents? I know Le Guin has been very prolific and wondered which of her writings would be considered novellas. From the length of the collection, I’d imagine it’s pretty comprehensive.

  2. I don’t know the contents as of yet. I was hoping ISFDB would note short fiction novellas, but sadly it does not.

Thank you for your response. I also thought to check out ISFDB, and it’s not really helpful.

One other thing that’s interesting- there’s also a collection of stories coming out called The Unreal and Real. Their apparently was a two volume collection previously published with this title, but the new one is like 200 pages longer than the combined length of the earlier one.

Tl; dr, I’m very excited about both of these volumes.
